Chat-n-Chart with Claude

Where I Walkthrough How to Use My New Claude Skill for Charting StatsCan Data

THE AIM for this post is to share a brief 30m walkthrough on how to install and use the new Claude skill I developed, statscan-to-pbc, for pulling data sets from Statistics Canada and presenting as a process behaviour chart. I’m presuming that you already know what a PBC is and how it’s used, but if not check out my earlier posts below for a quick leg-up.

Caveats: this skill is only available to paid-tier subscribers and may require a paid Claude account to be really useful in longer chats.

The .zip file can be downloaded from our new file repo at https://auth.digestibledeming.substack.com.

Free-tier subscribers can get the skill that fetches StatsCan data as a table here — it uses the exact same components as the pbc variant and has the same known-vectors.md that tells it where to get various datasets.

If you get stuck, or need something explained just as Claude! Seriously - it’s like having a knowledgeable, on-demand help file to explain acronyms, jargon, and how to interpret what it is presenting to you.

Drop a line in the comments below to tell me about your experiences using either and what you might suggest for improvements.
