UPDATE: I’ve made a number of changes to the app to make it more user-friendly. The run-stats have been replaced with a run-chart, and the canvas area is now a bit easier to see. Also, I’ve set the default drops and drop intervals to the ones I use most frequently that will allow you to see results faster.
UPDATE 2: Michael over at Systems of Human Performance has developed his own Funnel Experiment Simulator that you can check out on his Substack here.
THE AIM for today’s post is to share a new app I’ve designed to help new learners visualize how Dr. Deming’s thought experiment that he describes in The New Economics works in practice. I wrote this to fill a void left by a similar online app that is now long-defunct. As with most things Deming, it’s when you see things in action that the learning clicks, and this is especially true with the Funnel Experiment which has some mind-bending rules.
For those not up-to-speed on the experiment, you can see this earlier post I wrote which should catch you up enough to understand what the simulation is demonstrating:
This app will be available on early access to paid-tier subscribers first and I will open up availability in a couple of weeks after I get feedback from them on improvements. Membership has its privileges, as they say, which includes being beta testers and putting up with me updating the code multiple times per day!
